The live events occur weekly, starting on Friday morning and then once the event itself is no longer open to compete in, they change to a token exchange on Thursday. You can use the tokens you have collected until the next event starts on Friday morning, when all your unused tokens will be removed.
The token exchange can be accessed throughout the week, but often you might want to wait until Thursday to have all your tokens available for purchases. Remember to use your tokens as they will not move over to the next event!
